It is confirmed that some alleged National Security operatives, whose faces were covered with masks have locked the Bekwai District Office with additional padlocks. Their aim is yet unknown.
- The Bekwai District Manager, got an intel around 8:30 this morning, 28th July, 2025, about the besiege of the Offinso, Bekwai and Nkawie District Offices
- About 15-20 masked men came to the Bekwai office in a pick up and Landcruiser, armed to the teeth. They locked down the offices with their own padlocks and took the kets away.
- It is unknown whether their action is linked to the arrest of some illegal miners last week
- The District Manager is making calls to find out if the lockdown is really connected to National Security Operatives.
